Decorating Around The Home For Fall
Fall is a beautiful time of year and it is not just the leaves that turn red, orange, and yellow. It's also the perfect time to decorate your home for the season.
- Add some pumpkins or gourds to your front porch or in a vase on your kitchen table.
- Hang colorful leaves from trees or strings around your house.
- Put up a scarecrow in your garden or near your porch.
- Create a fall wreath with pinecones, acorns, and dried flowers (or you can buy one).
- Light up some candles and put them inside of jars on a mantlepiece or coffee table.
Paint & Wallpaper
There’s something really romantic about giving your home an autumnal makeover. You don't have to go full-on pumpkin spice and gourd decor - we know it's not your thing (we're looking at you, Pinterest). Instead, paint a canvas of fall colors or use wallpaper to bring a touch of nature to your space.
Leaves
It’s time to start collecting those fallen leaves! If you haven’t already done so, now would be a great time to put them away until spring. Once they’re dried out, you can add them to your compost bin or even make leaf-shaped cutouts using them as place mats.
Candles
Fall is the perfect season to indulge in some candlelit relaxation. We love candles that look like pumpkins or are made from real fruit peels.
Faux Flowers
If you’ve got a garden, it might be time to pull out the fake flowers and give them a rest. While many people enjoy having fresh blooms year round, others feel the need to keep them watered and fed throughout the winter months. If you’re feeling nostalgic for summertime, create a bouquet of faux flowers and fill your vases with water.
Pots & Planters
As soon as the weather starts getting cooler, it’s time to get rid of the pots and planter boxes filled with colorful annuals. Keep them in the garage and store them with the other items you don’t want to take indoors anymore. When the days begin getting shorter again, you can replant these pots with perennials, grasses, or herbs.
Stacks of Books
We love books, especially the ones that feature gorgeous illustrations. Take advantage of the beautiful autumnal weather and curl up with a good book.
Happy Autumn!
