Here we are - back to school and time to plan for those after school snacks.  The easier, the healthier, the tastier - the better.  Here are 7 yummy treats to tide your family over until supper time.

1. Fruit Salad

Fruit salad is a great way to get kids excited about eating fruits and vegetables. You can make fruit salads with any kind of fruit you want! Add some yogurt, granola, nuts, and honey if you want to add protein.

2. Banana Chips

Banana chips are a delicious snack that kids love. Slice bananas lengthwise and then cut them into thin slices. Sprinkle salt over the sliced bananas and let sit for at least 10 minutes. Then place the banana slices onto dehydrator sheets and dry at 110 degrees F for 12 hours. Once they are completely dried, remove the slices from the sheet and store in airtight containers.

3. Apple Chips

Apple chips are a tasty snack that kids enjoy. Cut apples into 1/8-inch thick slices and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Let sit for at least 30 minutes before placing on dehydrator sheets and drying at 110 degrees F for 8 hours. Store apple chips in airtight containers.

4. Peanut Butter Sandwich

Peanut butter sandwiches are a classic favorite among children. Spread peanut butter on bread and layer jelly on top. Kids love these snacks and they're super simple to make.

5. Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Oatmeal raisin cookies are a kid's favorite snack. Mix together oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir in raisins and chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes. Cool and store in airtight container.

6. Chocolate Milk

Chocolate milk is a popular drink that kids love. Pour milk into a glass jar and add cocoa powder. Shake well and refrigerate overnight. Serve cold.

7. Yogurt Parfait

Yogurt parfaits are a fun treat for kids. Layer plain Greek yogurt, fresh berries, granola, and honey. Top with crushed almonds and serve.
